Honda has released more detailed specs of its upcoming all-electric kei hot-hatch, the Honda Super-One, which is set for its global debut in Japan later this year and was first shown as a prototype at last year’s Japan Mobility Show.
Unveiled on Honda Japan’s official website, the production version of the Super-One EV closely resembles the prototype, featuring the eye-catching Boost Violet Pearl exterior colour that highlights its muscular design. Touted as the spiritual successor to the 1980s Honda City Turbo II Bulldog, it comes with a redesigned front bumper with prominent lower air ducts, flared fenders, a roof spoiler, 15-inch matte Berlina Black alloy wheels and wide Yokohama tyres.
As a proper kei car, the Super-One EV measures 3,589 mm in length, 1,573 mm in width and 1,616 mm in height, with a 2,520 mm wheelbase – on par with the Honda N-One e:.
Its interior shares a similar front dash layout with the N-One e: but adds sporty and exclusive features, including reshaped front seats with thicker bolsters, purple accents throughout, a custom 7-inch digital metre cluster graphic, and a purple Boost mode button matching the exterior. It is equipped with an Active Sound Control system that simulates gear shifts and engine growls via the standard eight-speaker Bose premium audio, plus a 9-inch central infotainment screen, heated steering wheel and the full Honda Sensing ADAS suite.
Per Honda Singapore’s website, the Super-One EV is fitted with a single front-mounted FWD electric motor, delivering a maximum 94 hp (70 kW) in Boost mode – more powerful than the standard N-One e: with 63 hp (47 kW). This extra power may classify it as a standard passenger car instead of a kei car. No battery specifications have been announced yet, though the 29.6 kWh unit from the N-One e: is expected to be used.
For enhanced handling and manoeuvrability, the model gets a custom chassis with lowered suspension and wider tracks, matching its aggressive exterior design.
Honda will announce the Super-One EV’s pricing and exact launch timing in the coming weeks. The brand previously hinted the hot-hatch EV will be available in Asia and Oceania besides Japan, and it is highly likely to be one of the six new models Honda Malaysia plans to launch in 2026.
