All-new BYD Han revealed in China: 3-metre wheelbase; EV and DM-i plug-in hybrid

The all-new BYD Han has appeared in the latest vehicle approval filings published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on 16 October, giving us an early look at the next-generation sedan.

Four versions are listed in the documents, comprising three fully electric models and one plug-in hybrid. The line-up includes rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations, while the plug-in hybrid uses BYD's DM-i system.

The new Han has also grown considerably in size, suggesting that BYD is moving the model further upmarket.

Exterior

The filing images show the new Han with a fastback profile, retaining the full-width LED light strip and closed-off front end familiar from the current model.

BYD has also listed a wide range of exterior options, allowing buyers to choose different styling details.

A panoramic sunroof is listed as standard, while optional equipment includes LiDAR, different door mirrors, D-pillar trim, wing decorations, front and rear bumper designs, and interior rear-view mirror mounts.

Buyers can also choose from black, matt, gloss or body-coloured finishes for the door handles, window surrounds and roof rails.

Other options include several alloy wheel designs, different brake caliper colours, rear badges and wheel centre caps.

Dimensions

The new Han measures 5,156 mm long, 1,969 mm wide and either 1,492 mm or 1,507 mm tall, depending on the version. Its wheelbase measures 3,030 mm, while the front and rear track widths are 1,695 mm and 1,700 mm respectively.

All four versions have five seats, with slight differences in overall height between powertrains.

Powertrain

The new Han will be offered with four powertrain configurations, ranging from a single-motor RWD electric model to a 520 kW dual-motor AWD version. A DM-i plug-in hybrid is also included in the filings.

Same-same but different - and also RM 20k cheaper! The GWM Wey G9 HEV has just been launched in Malaysia. Biggest difference is that this is a regular hybrid (the one that launched earlier is the PHEV), with a 2.0L engine paired to a DHT, good for 358 PS and 782 Nm. Prices start from RM 249,800, compared to the PHEV's RM 269,800. More below. #gwm #weyg9 #weyg9hev 1 minute ago From RM 96k - Honda City Hatchback launched in Malaysia; no more S and E variants... The City range has expanded today with the introduction of the hatchback bodystyle in facelift form. It shares the same 1.5L NA ++ CVT combo or e:HEV hybrid with the sedan, and its features are the same as well. There's also a bunch of launch offers: - 8-Year Warranty with Unlimited Mileage* for both petrol and hybrid variants - 10-Year Hybrid Battery Warranty with Unlimited Mileage* for the hybrid variant - RM4,000* cash reward upon registration of any New City Hatchback variant - RM2,000* rebate for current Honda owners who trade in their vehicles under the Honda Certified Used Car (HCUC) programme - RM1,000* rebate towards a new Honda purchase when trading in any car brand at participating Honda authorised dealers, in collaboration with Carsome #hondamalaysia #cityhatchback #hondacity 1 minute ago Xpeng Mona L03 spotted in Malaysia! Having launched already in Australia, Malaysia seems to be its next RHD destination. Sized about the same as the Tesla Model Y, this is different in the sense that there's more than just an EV powertrain, there's also a REEV hybrid powertrain too. Prices in Australia are near the Geely EX5 (Proton Emas 7) and BYD Atto 3 Evo, at around RM 121k. 📸:: u/reuster93 on Reddit #xpeng #xpengmonal03 #monal03 1 minute ago
