CKD MG ZS open for booking in Malaysia: Turbo & Hybrid+ launching in late October, est. from RM 105k

SAIC Motor Malaysia has confirmed that the new locally assembled (CKD) MG ZS will launch in Malaysia by the end of October 2026. The B-segment SUV will be offered in two versions: the MG ZS 1.5 Turbo, with an estimated price of RM 105,000, and the MG ZS Hybrid+, expected to cost RM 115,000.

Bookings are now open, with the first 1,000 customers eligible for early-bird benefits worth RM 3,000, along with five years of free servicing.

Spacious cabin and plenty of tech

The MG ZS is the largest SUV in its B-segment class. It measures 4,430 mm long and 1,818 mm wide, with a boot capacity of 443 litres. Folding down the rear seats increases luggage space to 1,457 litres.

Exterior features include MG's Connected Hunter Eyes headlights, black grille trim, rear LED lights and a streamlined rear spoiler.

Inside, the ZS gets an all-black cabin with perforated synthetic leather seats. Equipment highlights include:

• 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster
• 12.3-inch floating infotainment touchscreen
• Panoramic sunroof
• MG PILOT Level 2.5 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), including Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA) and Driver Fatigue Monitoring System (DFMS)
• MG iSMART connected services with remote smartphone controls

Four exterior colours will be available: Flare Red, Silver, Andes Grey and York White.

Two powertrains

The new MG ZS will be available with either a turbocharged petrol engine or a hybrid powertrain.

MG ZS 1.5 Turbo

The petrol version uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 170 PS (125 kW) and 275 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Combined fuel consumption is rated at 6.9 litres per 100 km, while the fuel tank holds 55 litres.

MG ZS Hybrid+

The hybrid combines a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 100 kW electric motor, a 1.83 kWh NCM battery and a dedicated three-speed hybrid transmission.

Total system output is 215 PS (158 kW), with combined torque of 465 Nm. The MG ZS Hybrid+ can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds.

Under suitable driving conditions, it can run on electric power alone at speeds of up to 80 km/h.

Combined fuel consumption is rated at 4.7 litres per 100 km. With its 41-litre fuel tank, the hybrid offers a claimed driving range of up to 870 km on a full tank.

The new MG ZS Hybrid+ will be on display at Nexus Bangsar South from 19 to 23 October 2026, between 10 AM and 10 PM daily.
