iCAUR V25 makes global debut: From RM 85k, 1.5T range extender and AWD – Malaysia next?

Love boxy, off-road SUVs? iCAUR has just unveiled another one.

The new iCAUR V25 made its global debut at the 2026 iCAUR International User Summit, joining the line-up between the smaller V23 and larger V27.

It keeps the brand's distinctive boxy styling but comes with a range-extender electric (REEV) powertrain, making longer journeys possible without relying entirely on charging stations.

Pre-orders have already opened in China, with prices ranging from RMB 139,800 to RMB 175,800 (approximately RM 85,000 to RM 107,000).

Exterior

The iCAUR V25 sticks to the familiar rugged SUV look, with a flat, upright front end, round headlights and prominent wheel arches.

It measures 4,636 mm long (including the rear-mounted storage box), 1,920 mm wide and 1,855 mm tall, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. The five-seat layout is designed to offer plenty of passenger space while keeping the vehicle manageable for everyday driving and parking.

For occasional trips off the beaten track, the V25 has 197 mm of minimum ground clearance, a 30-degree approach angle and a 28-degree departure angle.

Other exterior details include 21-inch aerodynamic wheels, a clamshell bonnet, integrated aluminium side steps and semi-concealed door handles that give the V25 a more traditional mechanical look.

At the back, the side-hinged tailgate carries a 22.7-litre storage box with separate compartments for items such as umbrellas and tools.

Owners who enjoy customising their cars will also find more than 20 factory-provided mounting points for accessories. The D-pillar section, for example, can be removed to accommodate a ladder or an additional side-mounted storage bag.

Powertrain

Under the bonnet is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that works as a generator rather than driving the wheels directly.

The V25 uses front and rear electric motors with i-AWD intelligent all-wheel drive, producing a combined 455 PS and 505 Nm of torque.

The suspension consists of MacPherson struts at the front and a five-link setup at the rear, with tuning carried out by British motorsport and engineering specialist Prodrive. The setup is intended to balance everyday ride comfort with handling on winding roads.

For camping and other outdoor activities, the V25 supports 6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) power output, allowing owners to run electrical equipment such as cooking appliances, fans and lights.

It also has a maximum towing capacity of 1,800 kg and a static roof load rating of 200 kg, making it suitable for carrying a rooftop tent when parked.

Interior and technology

The cabin is designed with everyday practicality in mind, offering 41 storage compartments throughout the vehicle. With the rear seats folded, luggage capacity expands to a maximum of 1,549 litres.

The seats can also be arranged to create a flat resting area inside the car.

The V25 comes with the Super Falcon 700+ driver assistance system, powered by a Horizon Journey 6P chip delivering up to 560 TOPS of computing performance.

Its driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control (ACC), autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot monitoring, driver monitoring, a 540-degree high-definition camera system and automated parking.

Other cabin features include electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, a driver's seat memory function, a 15-speaker audio system and a panoramic sunroof. The ventilated seats should be particularly welcome in Malaysia's hot weather.

When come to Malaysia?

iCAUR Malaysia has yet to announce any plans to introduce the V25 locally, and Malaysian pricing remains unconfirmed. All specifications and prices mentioned here refer to the Chinese-market model.

With its boxy styling, range-extender powertrain and camping-friendly features, the V25 could appeal to Malaysian buyers looking for something a little different from a conventional SUV.

But would it be worth considering at around RM 130k if it eventually makes its way here? Let us know what you think in the comments.
