Citroën has unveiled a modern take on its classic 2CV at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. Reimagined as a small electric hatchback, the concept measures just 3.76 metres long and is expected to start at around €15,000 (approximately RM 72k) when it enters production in 2028.

The new concept draws heavily on the original 2CV, retaining its rounded shape and several of the design details that made the classic model so recognisable.
Up front, the daytime running lights form a distinctive bracket-shaped pattern, while Citroën's latest badge is illuminated.

The headlights sit high and extend out over the front wings, much like those on the original car. The bonnet also retains the characteristic creases of the classic 2CV.
From the side, the concept features retro-style disc wheels and exposed, semi-circular door handles. Small marker lights have also been fitted to the C-pillars.

Inside, Citroën has taken a minimalist approach, using a yellow-and-white colour scheme and an unusually simple dashboard layout.

There's an oval-shaped steering wheel, but no conventional instrument cluster or centre console.

The front seats are joined together to form a bench seat, another nod to the original 2CV's straightforward design.

Despite the stripped-back layout, there's still an 8-inch touchscreen in the dashboard. A removable radio is also fitted into the trim ahead of the front passenger.
Citroën has confirmed that the new 2CV will be fully electric, although power output, battery capacity and driving range have yet to be announced.
