XPENG has previewed the all-new MONA L05, a five-seat crossover SUV that will go on pre-sale in China on 15 October.

XPENG chairman He Xiaopeng said the MONA L05 had been developed with global markets in mind from the beginning. The company plans to tailor the model for 65 countries and regions, with both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (REEV) versions on the way.

The MONA L05 shares the MONA L03's design language, including XPENG's distinctive Starship lights. Creases running along the bonnet give the front end a more sculpted look.

The sloping roofline gives the SUV a fastback profile, complemented by a floating-roof design, semi-concealed door handles and new alloy wheels. Yellow brake callipers provide a contrasting splash of colour.
At 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall, the MONA L05 is substantially larger than the L03. Its 2,940 mm wheelbase should also help make room for passengers.

A full-width rear light bar continues the family look, while the redesigned rear bumper gives the L05 a more substantial appearance than its smaller sibling.
XPENG will offer the MONA L05 in both fully electric and range-extended forms. Figures from earlier regulatory filings give an indication of what to expect.

He Xiaopeng also claims that 87% of the MONA L05's interior space is usable cabin space. XPENG says the boot can fit nine 20-inch suitcases even with five adults in the car.
The MONA L05 will also feature an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), which XPENG describes as world-leading. More details on the system have yet to be released.
