First seen at the Japan Mobility Show, the futuristic Toyota Corolla Concept is now on display at KLIMS 2026. This conceptual fastback signals a major departure for the historic nameplate, showcasing a sharp, highly angular silhouette that previews the potential design direction for the next-generation global model.
As an early-stage design study, many of its exterior proportions are deliberately exaggerated. Up front and across the rear, the vehicle features full-width light bars that create a distinct visual signature, contrasted by the unexpected inclusion of traditional, old-school physical side mirrors down the flanks. The fastback silhouette is further anchored by a set of massive 21-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels.

Drivetrain specifications remain undisclosed for the time being. However, in line with Toyota’s Multi-Pathway Approach to electrification, the production version of this 13th-generation Corolla is anticipated to support a variety of powertrains, including battery-electric (BEV), hybrid, and carbon-neutral internal combustion engines.
This could potentially include Toyota’s next-generation family of highly efficient 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre engines currently under development.

Inside, the cabin breaks away entirely from the central touchscreen layouts that dominate the modern automotive industry, opting instead for a highly minimalist cockpit configuration. The driver is provided with a dedicated digital instrument display, while a completely separate screen is positioned directly ahead of the front passenger.
Dividing the two positions is a floating centre console designed to resemble a high-end nightstand. This detached island architecture sits beneath an expansive front windscreen that sweeps far back into the roofline, a dramatic design choice highlighted by a unique, floating rear-view mirror assembly.
While the steering wheel and secondary switchgear appear closer to production-ready normalcy, the rest of the cabin focuses heavily on open, architectural space.
