Months after the second-generation 2027 MG ZS was shown at the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (2026 KLIMS), MG Malaysia has launched the new B-segment SUV here.

The 2027 MG ZS is offered across two powertrain options, comprising a conventional 1.5 Turbo priced at RM 103,900 and a Hybrid+ at RM 109,900.
Early bird customers can enjoy rewards worth up to RM 3,000 and 5 years free maintenance. Furthermore, customers who purchase the turbo variant can enjoy a special financing package from Hong Leong Bank and Bank Rakyat, while those who book the Hybrid+ variant will receive an additional RM 3,000 reward, valid till 31-December 2026.

Unlike earlier MG models, the 2027 MG ZS is locally-assembled (CKD) at EPMB's facility in Melaka right from the start; there's no introductory imported (CBU) variants. The 2027 MG ZS is the second MG models to be locally assembled (CKD) here.

Up front, slim headlamps sit above a sizeable grille, giving the ZS an assertive face. LED headlights, daytime running lights and tail lights feature on both versions, together with automatic headlight activation and intelligent headlamp control.

Both ride on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/50-profile tyres. Silver roof rails, chrome lower-window trim and a rear spoiler complete the exterior, while rain-sensing wipers and electrically folding, heated door mirrors are also standard fitment for both variants.

The ZS measures 4,430 mm long, 1,818 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a 2,610 mm wheelbase. Both variants share these dimensions and a quoted ground clearance of 161 mm.
Four exterior colours are available, namely York White, Silver, Andes Grey, and Flare Red.

Inside, the ZS features a three-spoke, leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. There's also a 12.3-inch digital driver display.

The seats are finished in PVC, with perforated material and layered foam padding. Both variants of the 2027 MG ZS are listed with a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, manual lumbar support and heated front seats. The front passenger seat gets four-way manual adjustment.

Boot capacity stands at 443 litres with the rear seats in place. Folding the 60:40-split rear bench expands this to 1,457 litres, while MG claims up to 30 storage spaces around the cabin.
Powering the 2027 MG ZS 1.5 Turbo is a 1,496 cc four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 170 PS and 275 Nm. Said engine drives the front wheels through a CVT-type automatic, with the combined fuel consumption quoted at 6.9 L/100 km.

As for the ZS Hybrid+, this variant pairs a 1,498 cc four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh traction battery. The engine develops 75 kW (102 PS) and 128 Nm, while the motor contributes 100 kW (136 PS) and 250 Nm.

MG quotes combined system output of 158 kW (215 PS) and 465 Nm. Drive goes to the front wheels through a three-speed hybrid transmission (3DHT).
The claimed 0–100 km/h sprint of the 2027 MG ZS Hybrid+ is 8.7 seconds, accompanied by combined fuel consumption of 4.7 L/100 km.
The Hybrid+ gets a smaller 41-litre fuel tank, versus the regular petrol's 55-litre tank.
