AITO EV Brand to Enter Europe in 2027: SERES Details Strategy

AITO, the premium new energy vehicle brand under SERES Group, has announced plans to enter Europe in autumn 2027.

The company unveiled its international expansion strategy at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, which opened on 12 October, where it also displayed several models and its latest technologies.

Europe is the first step in AITO's overseas expansion, with the brand planning to move into other global markets over time.

AITO's growth since 2016

At the Paris Motor Show, AITO looked back at its development, from the establishment of its R&D centre to the expansion of its model range and rising deliveries.

  • 2016: SERES established an R&D centre as it moved into the premium new energy vehicle segment.
  • 2021: The AITO brand launched in China, alongside its first model, the AITO 5.
  • 2022–2025: The range grew with the addition of the AITO 7, AITO 9 and AITO 8.
  • 2024: Cumulative deliveries surpassed 400,000 units.
  • By 2026: Following the launch of the AITO 6, global cumulative deliveries are expected to exceed 1.2 million units.

Preparing its cars for European roads

AITO says it has factored EU regulations and industry policies into its long-term product planning. Before entering the market, the company is adapting its vehicles to European requirements, from safety standards and road testing to in-car technology and aftersales support.

Safety and certification

AITO is developing its vehicles with EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EU WVTA) requirements in mind. It also aims to achieve a five-star rating under the 2026 Euro NCAP assessment programme. This is a stated target, rather than a rating already awarded.

Testing for European conditions

The company is carrying out tests to assess how its vehicles perform on different road surfaces and in varying climates, while accounting for local driving habits. The aim is to ensure the cars can handle Europe's varied conditions and remain reliable over time.

In-car technology and driver assistance

AITO is also working to adapt its intelligent cockpit, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated parking functions for European users.

Service and parts supply

Alongside the vehicles themselves, AITO plans to establish local support covering vehicle diagnostics, mobility services and the supply of spare parts.

The company expects to begin selling its vehicles in Europe in autumn 2027, with further international expansion to follow.
