BYD Malaysia will begin its Flash Charging rollout at selected Denza showrooms, with plans to explore a wider network with Gentari covering Petronas stations, intercity routes and highway rest stops.
The announcement follows the recent memorandum of understanding between BYD Malaysia and Gentari, the Petronas-owned clean energy company, to explore deploying high-power charging infrastructure locally.

Alongside the charging update, Denza Malaysia has introduced Fjord Green for the Z9GT, which remains priced at RM 358,800. More than 100 units of the electric grand tourer have been delivered to Malaysian customers since its launch.
BYD Flash Charging is designed to deliver its fastest performance with vehicles using the second-generation Blade Battery, including the recently launched Denza Z9GT.

Equipped with a 122.49 kWh battery and 1,000 V electrical architecture, the Z9GT is claimed to charge from 10–70% in five minutes and 10–97% in nine minutes using the technology.

Existing BYD models can also use the new charging infrastructure, with charging speeds determined by each vehicle’s capabilities.
Selected Denza showrooms will provide the first access to Flash Charging for customers with compatible vehicles.

BYD Malaysia and Gentari will then assess suitable locations and supporting infrastructure for wider deployment. These include Petronas stations and key intercity corridors, with selected highway rest and service areas also being considered as the network develops.
BYD Malaysia managing director Jacob Ma said the company is working towards making Flash Charging available locally soon, with the aim of making EV ownership more convenient.

The plans also include training and upskilling local technicians to support the infrastructure as Malaysia’s EV market grows.

The new Fjord Green body colour joins Rime Gold and Obsidian Black, bringing the Z9GT’s exterior palette to three colours. It is now available to view at Denza showrooms nationwide.
Interior combinations depend on the exterior colour:
| Exterior colour | Available interiors |
|---|---|
| Rime Gold | Perg Beige; all-black with suede seats and yellow stitching |
| Obsidian Black | Red Velvet; Perg Beige; all-black with suede seats and yellow stitching |
| Fjord Green | Perg Beige; all-black with suede seats and yellow stitching; Red Velvet |
Denza says further batches of the Z9GT are arriving following the delivery of its first 100-plus customer vehicles.

The RM 358,800 Denza Z9GT is available at the brand’s eight Malaysian outlets: Balakong, Glenmarie, KLCC, KL North, Old Klang Road, Melaka, Penang and Skudai.
