Geely E2 launches in France as the global version of Proton eMas 5

Geely has officially launched the Geely E2 in France, with orders for the new all-electric model opening on 1 September following its launch event and FASHION showcase in Paris.

The Geely E2 will be familiar to Malaysian buyers. It is the same model known locally as the Proton eMas 5, while its Chinese-market counterpart is the popular Geely Xingyuan.

To mark the French launch, Geely also hosted a three-day immersive experience in Paris, giving local customers a closer look at the new EV.

The event featured six themed areas at GEELY Village, highlighting the E2's interior space, driving dynamics and other key features.

The setup was designed around Geely's idea of delivering more space and versatility in a compact package, while giving the brand a more direct connection with French customers.

Safety is another key focus. The E2's body structure, battery protection and environmental performance have been developed to meet the highest applicable EU standards, with Geely also targeting a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

As the E2 now joins its international line-up, Geely's cumulative global sales have surpassed 800,000 vehicles.

Geely is using the French launch to further build its local presence under its brand vision of "Making High-End the New Normal".

The company currently has 60 sales and service centres across France and plans to expand that network to 200 locations, covering the country more extensively.

Geely also plans to broaden its range of new-energy models in France and work more closely with local culture through brand collaborations, as it looks to build a stronger presence in the market.

Back in Malaysia, the Proton eMas 5 is now available in two variants under the Special Launch Price programme:

  • 2026 eMas 5 Premium, 325km: RM 69,800
  • 2026 eMas 5 Prime, 225km: RM 56,800
