Nissan opens its first overseas NISMO Performance Centre in Melbourne, Australia

Nissan's performance and customisation division, Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. (NMC), has opened its first NISMO Performance Centre outside Japan at Ferntree Gully Nissan in Melbourne, Australia.

The opening marks a major step in NISMO's international expansion and puts its performance parts, factory expertise, heritage restoration services and owner experiences within reach of enthusiasts in one of Nissan's key overseas markets.

The centre is part of a phased expansion plan for Australia announced by NMC and Nissan Oceania in May this year.

Melbourne's new NISMO hub

Located at Ferntree Gully Nissan in Victoria, the new performance centre connects Australian owners with the expertise of NISMO's Omori Factory in Japan.

Key services include:

  • Vehicle restoration: Support for extensive restoration and refurbishment projects.
  • Genuine NISMO parts: Access to authentic performance components and parts for heritage models.
  • Factory-certified specialists: NISMO Meisters certified by the Japanese factory provide specialist technical support and workmanship.

The centre will give local enthusiasts access to NISMO's technical knowledge and heritage expertise without having to rely solely on support from Japan.

More overseas centres planned

Yutaka Sanada, president of NMC and global head of the NISMO brand, said the opening of the first overseas performance centre was an important milestone in the brand's global expansion. The aim is to make NISMO's products, services and brand experience more accessible to enthusiasts in key markets.

More than 300 Nissan and NISMO fans attended the Melbourne opening, reflecting Australia's established GT-R and performance-car culture.

The expansion is set to continue, with further NISMO Performance Centres planned for Australia from 2027. NMC is also expected to announce plans for additional overseas markets in due course.
