Porsche global deliveries fall 16% in first nine months of 2026, 911 sales rise 12%

Porsche delivered 178,532 vehicles worldwide in the first nine months of 2026, down 16% year on year, according to the latest figures released by the German carmaker. The decline continues the weaker performance seen in the first half of the year.

China recorded the steepest drop among Porsche's major markets, with deliveries falling 33% to 21,493 vehicles.

Porsche attributed the downturn to challenging market conditions in China. The company said it would stick to its strategy of prioritising value over volume, focusing on the brand's long-term prospects rather than chasing short-term sales growth.

Regional breakdown

Porsche's deliveries fell across all its major regions in the first nine months of the year.

  • North America: 56,088 vehicles, down 13% year on year.
  • Europe excluding Germany: 44,949 vehicles, down 11%.
  • Overseas and emerging markets: 35,048 vehicles, down 19%.
  • China: 21,493 vehicles, down 33%.
  • Germany: 20,954 vehicles, down 7%.

North America remained Porsche's largest market, despite the double-digit decline.

Model breakdown

The Porsche 911 bucked the overall downward trend, with deliveries rising 12% to 42,217 units in the first nine months of 2026. The Cayenne remained Porsche's best-selling model, with 59,586 deliveries, down just 2%. The all-electric Cayenne, launched this summer, accounted for 7,002 of those deliveries.

The Macan recorded 51,025 deliveries, down 21%, including 23,029 all-electric versions. Production of the petrol-powered Macan ended this summer.

Deliveries of the Panamera and Taycan fell 35% and 31% respectively, to 13,714 and 8,699 units. The 718 range saw deliveries drop 79% to 3,291 units following the end of production in October 2025.

Matthias Becker, Porsche's executive board member for sales and marketing, said the company would continue to focus on its sports cars, distinctive derivatives and personalisation through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The strategy is intended to support profitability by prioritising higher-margin models.
