Updated 2026 Denza D9 debuts in Thailand: Up to 557 PS, 730 km NEDC, Google built-in

Our neighbours over in Thailand recently debuted the updated 2026 Denza D9, with the Kingdom amongst the first markets in this region to receive the Flash Charging-equipped model.

Yes – this is very likely the similar model that BYD will be launching in Malaysia soon. After all, teasers of the model have dropped on social media.

What’s new with the 2026 Denza D9?

The headlining feature is the switch to a new 1000-volt electrical architecture, paired to BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery.

This combination, not only sees an increase in battery capacity from 103.6-kWh to 115-kWh, but crucially, it also welcomes the BYD Flash Charging technology. With Flash Charging, it takes just 5 minutes to charge from 10% to 70% state-of-charge (SoC), while 10% to 90% SoC can be achieved in just 9 minutes.

Apart from the new battery, the Denza D9’s output power has also increased from 230 kW to 340 kW (462 PS) for the 2WD variant, while the AWD variant sees power increasing to 340 kW (557 PS).

Claimed range, under the NEDC cycle, is up to 730 km for the 2WD, and up to 650 km for the AWD.

The good news continues – the Thai-spec Denza D9 also switches to the DiSus-C dual-valve intelligent suspension system that is said to reduce body roll by 22%, as well as nose up and nose down during acceleration or braking by 24%.

Other notable changes include:

  • Gear shifter is now column-mounted
  • 14-speaker Dynaudio sound system has been replaced by a 16-speaker Devialet system
  • Infotainment now adds Google Built-in
  • Now with 6-zone voice control system
  • Third-row seats now with 4-way power-adjustment
  • 126-litre under-floor storage compartment
  • Redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Digital rear-view mirror
  • Second-row Air Spa Zero Gravity seats fitted to AWD variant

With that said, these upgrades are exclusive to the Thai-market car. It remains to be seen what upgrades our Malaysian-spec car gets when it launches here soon.

As a brief recap,  the current Denza D9 is priced at RM 259,000 for the 2WD variant, while the AWD goes for RM 309,000.
