Li Auto has officially entered Macau with its first retail center, marking its initial expansion into the Hong Kong–Macau region and a clear signal of accelerating overseas ambitions. More importantly, this move is closely tied to the brand’s upcoming right-hand-drive (RHD) strategy, which could eventually open the door to markets such as Malaysia.
Although Li Auto has yet to announce any official plans for Malaysia, the i6 and i8 are widely expected to be the brand’s most likely candidates if it enters the market.

The Li i6 is positioned as a family-oriented five-seat electric SUV and is available in two variants: an RWD single-motor version and an AWD dual-motor version. It is built on Li Auto’s latest 800V high-voltage platform and features an 87.3 kWh 5C lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Meanwhile, the Li i8 is a larger six-seat premium electric SUV, offering configurations built around ternary lithium (NMC) batteries.

The company has confirmed that it will introduce the RHD version of the Li Mega MPV in Hong Kong and Singapore by the end of the year. This statement is significant, because once Hong Kong and Singapore are covered, Malaysia becomes a very logical next step.
