Jeep and Citroën arrived at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (2026 GIIAS) with two sharply different messages for Indonesian buyers: one centred on off-road heritage, the other on comfort and everyday usability. Jeep used the show to introduce the Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition, while Citroën brought a comfort-led lineup topped by an ë-C3 personalisation concept.

For Jeep Indonesia, the Whitecap Edition is a heritage-themed special model tied to the brand’s global Twelve 4 Twelve anniversary programme. Indonesia is one of the selected markets to receive it, and the main visual cue is the Bright White removable hardtop that recalls the classic Jeep CJ.
That styling reference matters because the CJ played a visible role in Indonesia’s off-road scene in the 1980s. Jeep is using that link to frame the Whitecap Edition as more than a cosmetic variant, positioning it as a nod to brand history while keeping the current Wrangler’s core hardware intact.

Under the bonnet, the Whitecap Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with 270 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The model also retains Jeep’s Rock-Trac 4x4 system and Tru-Lok locking differentials, both of which are central to its off-road focus.
Jeep has also added white Rubicon hood decals and TrailCam, a camera system designed to help drivers assess obstacles when tackling rough terrain. The package is aimed at buyers who want the familiar Wrangler format with some extra visual distinction and easier trail use.
Ario Soerjo, chief operating officer of Jeep Indonesia, said the special edition is intended to balance the brand’s heritage with the needs of modern adventure-oriented customers. Jeep also said GIIAS visitors can access special purchase incentives and financing packages during the exhibition, as part of its 85th anniversary campaign.

Citroën, meanwhile, used GIIAS 2026 to reinforce its identity around comfort and accessible mobility. The brand’s display included the ë-C3 All-Electric, C3 and C3 Aircross SUV, with the French marque continuing to lean on its Advanced Comfort philosophy.
The most eye-catching Citroën display item was a retro-styled ë-C3 personalisation concept inspired by the 2CV. The concept uses pastel decals, vintage-style fabric upholstery and retro wheels with chrome hubcaps to show how the compact EV could be customised without moving away from Citroën’s softer design language.
Ferdinan Hendra, sales and marketing division head of Citroën Indonesia, said the concept was created to explore personalisation while staying faithful to the brand’s comfort-led DNA. The display was paired with Citroën’s broader ownership message, which includes a 52-dealer network in Indonesia and 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance.

Citroën also said promotional programmes are available throughout GIIAS 2026, adding a customer-support angle to the brand showcase. Together, Jeep and Citroën used the same show floor to present two different ways of selling cars in Indonesia: one through heritage and capability, the other through comfort, customisation and ownership support.
Closer to home, the introduction of these two brands could signal at a larger regional roll-out. Recall that Jeep returned to Malaysia after a hiatus, but exited the country after 2017.
Citroen, on the other hand, could be poised to return too. Its website has hinted as such.
