BYD and vivo are taking their long-running partnership a step further, with a new agreement to develop connected AI features for cars and smartphones.
The agreement was signed in Shenzhen, Guangdong, covering cross-device AI, smartphone-to-car connectivity, digital keys and in-car fast charging.

The first batch of new features will arrive in the Denza N8, a five-seat SUV equipped with the world's first "Skyline Display + Mega Screen" smart cockpit.
One of the key developments is deeper integration between the N8's 30-inch panoramic display and vivo's flagship X Fold 6 foldable smartphone. The system supports phone screen mirroring, with a floating-window layout that allows smartphone content to be viewed and used on the car's larger display.

The new features also include NFC tap-to-connect. A simple tap of a vivo phone establishes a connection, while a dedicated shortcut key provides quick access to selected apps and services.
Drivers will also be able to use AI agents to carry out tasks across the two devices. By saying "Hello, Denza", they can ask the system to check or create calendar events, make payments and set navigation destinations, without having to switch between the car's infotainment system and their phone.
BYD and vivo have been working together since 2019, with previous projects covering in-car fast charging, digital car keys and smartphone-to-car connectivity. Fast charging and digital key technology have already reached mass production, while phone-to-car connectivity is now supported by selected models across BYD's brands.
Their screen-mirroring system made its international debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, marking another step in bringing the technology to markets outside China.

The latest agreement puts greater emphasis on AI. BYD's AI super agent, "Didi Xia", will work together with vivo's Jovi AI assistant. Rather than simply responding to individual commands, the aim is for AI to handle more complex tasks across the phone and vehicle.
For BYD, the collaboration fits into its wider strategy of connecting the car with other smart devices. The two companies plan to continue developing AI features together and extend more of them to overseas markets.
