July 2026 Malaysia Car Sales: Perodua Bezza leads, Proton eMas 5 breaks into top-10

The Perodua Bezza continued to lead Malaysia’s new vehicle sales rankings in July 2026, with 9,821 units registered during the month.

Perodua continued to dominate the upper end of the model rankings, occupying four of the top five positions.

The Bezza was followed by the Proton Saga, which recorded 7,814 units to finish second overall. The Perodua Axia took third place with 7,154 units, while the Perodua Myvi and Perodua Alza rounded out the top five with 5,472 and 4,233 units respectively.

Proton eMas 5 enters Malaysia's top 10

The biggest talking point from July's model rankings, however, was the performance of the Proton eMas 5.

The electric hatchback recorded 2,402 units in July, placing it sixth overall among all models sold in Malaysia.

This puts the e.MAS 5 ahead of several established mainstream models, including the Honda City, Toyota Hilux, Perodua Traz and Toyota Vios.

The Honda City ranked seventh with 2,362 units, followed by the Toyota Hilux with 2,293 units, Perodua Traz with 2,244 units and Toyota Vios with 2,185 units.

The e.MAS 5's sixth-place finish is particularly notable given that it is an electric vehicle competing directly against some of Malaysia's most established mass-market nameplates.

Four Peroduas in the top five

Perodua's dominance was once again evident at the top of the rankings, with four of its models occupying the first five positions.

The Bezza's 9,821-unit performance gave it a lead of more than 2,000 units over the second-placed Proton Saga.

The Axia followed closely behind with 7,154 units, while the Myvi and Alza also recorded more than 4,000 units each.

With four models in the top five, Perodua continued to demonstrate the strength of its presence across Malaysia's mainstream passenger vehicle market.

eMas 5 leads all EVs

Beyond its sixth-place position in the overall rankings, the eMas 5 was also Malaysia's best-selling electric vehicle in July by a substantial margin.

Its 2,402 registrations were more than four times the sales recorded by the second-best-selling EV, the BYD Atto 3, which registered 531 units.

The result gives the eMas 5 a significant lead over both established EV players and newer entrants, while also placing it firmly within Malaysia's overall top 10 best-selling models.

For Proton, the July performance marks another significant milestone for the eMas 5, as the model demonstrates that an EV can compete for volume alongside some of Malaysia's most established internal-combustion models.

With the eMas 5 now sitting sixth in the overall model rankings, its performance in the coming months will be worth watching as Proton continues to expand its presence in Malaysia's electrified vehicle market.
