Spied: 2027 Suzuki Fronx facelift caught testing with new safety hardware for India

2027 Maruti Fronx facelift prototype has been spied testing in India. The test car was heavily camouflaged, so design changes are almost impossible to make out.

ADAS radar under cover, front sensors visible

The centre of the front grille was covered, hinting at where an ADAS module would sit. Maruti did the same on the updated Baleno.

That usually means adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance.

Front parking sensors were also visible on the test car, though these are a separate convenience feature rather than part of the ADAS suite.

Rear disc brakes

At the back, the prototype appears to run rear disc brakes, while the current India-spec Fronx uses front discs and rear drums across its range.

The rest of the prototype looked familiar: alloy wheels, body proportions and the sloping roofline appear unchanged, and the tail lamps stayed partly covered.

What this means for the Fronx on sale here

The Malaysian Fronx is imported (CBU) from Indonesia. The Fronx sold here already comes with a full ADAS suite as standard, along with a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating.

The rear disc brake change is more relevant to local buyers: the current Malaysian-spec car uses a drum-based rear setup, so that is the change local buyers would notice most if it ever arrives here.

This facelift is likely an improvement for the Indian car, but it won’t necessarily reflect the Malaysian car. Our Fronx is imported from Indonesia and already offers better ADAS kit than the Indian car.

Current pricing

The Fronx Hybrid is priced from RM118,888 on-the-road without insurance for the single-tone variant, with the dual-tone at RM119,888. The Fronx Sport is listed at RM130,888.

Suzuki’s Year-End Value Drive for the standard Fronx currently includes cash rebates of up to RM20,000, three years of free service, a five-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty, and an eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
