Updated Jetour T2 launches in China as Traveller 7, from RM 76,800

Jetour has launched the updated Traveller 7 in China. Known as the Jetour T2 in Malaysia, the facelifted SUV is available in eight variants across three powertrain options.

Prices range from RMB 139,900 to RMB 179,900, with launch discounts bringing the equivalent prices to around RM 76,800 to RM 100,000.

The updated model brings subtle styling changes, revised equipment and new powertrain options to a nameplate that has become one of Jetour's key models in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian markets.

Subtle exterior updates

The updated Jetour T2 retains its familiar boxy, rugged design, with several changes to the front and rear.

At the front, a horizontal trim strip has been added across the grille, while the Jetour badge has been moved to the front edge of the bonnet. The front bumper is now finished in body colour.

The SUV measures 4,827 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,875 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.

At the rear, the side-hinged tailgate and externally mounted storage box are retained, while the taillights feature darker internal detailing.

Cabin and comfort features

The cabin features 12-layer Cloud Comfort seats with eight-point pneumatic massage and 10-way power adjustment. The seats can also be folded flat to create a sleeping surface measuring up to 2 metres long.

For audio, the SUV comes with a Sound of Boya audio system featuring 23 speakers.

Petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains

The updated model is available in China with petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains.

  • 1.5-litre turbo petrol: Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT).
  • 2.0-litre turbo petrol: Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission (8AT) and Jetour's XWD all-wheel-drive system.
  • 1.5-litre C-DM plug-in hybrid: Uses a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) and a 45.12 kWh CATL battery. It offers a claimed pure-electric range of 251 km and a combined range of up to 1,400 km under the CLTC test cycle.

Jetour has also previewed a future C-DM variant equipped with Huawei's Qiankun intelligent driving assistance system.

What about Malaysia?

There is no official confirmation yet on when, or whether, the latest updates for the Chinese-market Traveller 7 will make their way to Malaysia.

The locally available Jetour T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid was recently launched at RM 162,800. If the updated model eventually arrives here, it could give Malaysian buyers another option in the rugged SUV segment. For now, local launch plans remain unconfirmed.
