BYD Yangwang has given us another glimpse of the Altior (鼎曜), its upcoming ultra-luxury flagship sedan, this time revealing the intricate crystal headlights that will define its front end.
The new teaser follows yesterday's announcement of the car's Chinese and English names. Yangwang has also confirmed that the Altior will make its global debut in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The headlights are the star of the latest preview. Intricately arranged crystal elements come together to create the shape of a traditional Chinese ding (鼎), an ancient ceremonial vessel that symbolises prestige and authority.
It is an ambitious design choice, giving the Altior a face that draws on Chinese heritage rather than following the usual luxury-car playbook.
The grille gets its own dose of detail, with a fine dot-pattern finish that adds a distinctly modern touch.

Hu Xiaoqing, general manager of Yangwang's sales division, says the ding is more than a styling reference. Its form and symbolism underpin the brand's vision of what an ultra-luxury sedan can look like through an Eastern cultural lens.
In her words, the vessel's appeal lies in its upright stance, balanced proportions and craftsmanship that rewards a closer look. Yangwang has carried those ideas into the Altior, from its bold, ding-inspired front end to its broad body and carefully worked lines.
The aim is to give the car a commanding presence without losing the sense of balance and refinement expected of a flagship sedan.
