In two days’ time, the biennial 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (2026 KLIMS) will return. And like the last round, this motor show will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
Grab your coffee and let’s dive in.
For the 2026 round of KLIMS, a total of 18 automotive brands will be participating, including Dongfeng, GWM, Honda, Hyundai, Jetour, Kia, Mazda, MG, Nissan, Perodua, Proton, Proton eMas, smart, Toyota, TQ Wuling, Weststar Maxus, Xpeng, and Zeekr.

Kicking this list off is Dongfeng, which could be showcasing a number of upcoming models for Malaysia.
From what we understand, it appears that Dongfeng Malaysia could be showcasing models such as the Dongfeng 008, Dongfeng MHero II, and the Dongfeng Voyah Dream.
These models should be previewing a more exciting future for the Wuhan-based car manufacturer, as the new Singapore-based distributor Volt Auto will be playing a bigger role in redeveloping Dongfeng’s presence in Malaysia.

GWM will likely be showcasing a couple electrified models at its booth, with one of the models poised to be the Ora 5.
Launched in Thailand earlier this year, the Ora 5 is a C-segment-sized EV SUV that aims squarely at the Proton eMas 7 and BYD Atto 3.
There’s also a second model that GWM could preview, in the form of the Haval Raptor. Sold in China as the 哈弗猛龙, the Raptor is positioned similarly to the Jetour T2 – a model that’s slowly gaining popularity here.
Like the Chinese rivals, Honda will also be showcasing their electrified line-up.

One such electrified model will likely be the Honda Prelude, a model that Honda has been touted to launch here soon. And we can see why – there’s nothing quite like the Prelude that’s currently on sale today.
In addition to the Prelude, Honda will also likely showcase the rest of the electrified models, such as their e:HEV models (Civic, CR-V, City, City Hatchback) and the e:N1.
The South Koreans are definitely making their presence known – Hyundai will be showcasing not one, but two full-fledged N models, namely the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N.

These Hyundai N models are souped-up versions of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, respectively, offering up to 609 PS and 740 Nm.

But that’s not all – the South Koreans also dropped a teaser of the upcoming Hyundai Stargazer. The Stargazer is a B-segment MPV that has its sights set on models like the Mitsubishi Xpander, Perodua Alza, and Toyota Veloz.

This SUV-focused brand will be showcasing the Jetour G700. The Jetour G700 is a large SUV that rivals the equally massive Tank 500. That said, it remains to be seen what powertrain options the local-spec G700 will receive.
Also set to be shown at the booth is the Jetour T1, the company’s next SUV entrant and a less rugged version of the T2. The T1 was shown at the Penang Auto Show a few months ago, with a model set for a local launch soon.

Unlike the T2, the T1 will be offered with two powertrain options, increasing its appeal amongst potential buyers.
Could Jetour showcase other concept cars beyond the models we mentioned? Watch this space.

Like its parent Hyundai, Kia has a slew of new models that they will be showcasing, including the Kia EV4, Kia EV5, and Kia PV5.
Interestingly enough, there is a possibility that Kia might showcase the Kia K4 – the spiritual replacement of the Kia Forte/Kia Cerato.

The next Japanese brand on this list is none other than Mazda. The Hiroshima-based marque will be showcasing the all-new, third-generation Mazda CX-5 – a model that made its global debut nearly a year ago.

Mazda’s teaser material also showed a second SUV model, which will likely be the Mazda CX-60 3.3G M Hybrid.
Said model will be priced from RM 252,872 (on-the-road, without insurance). It’s quite a handsome sum, but you do get quite a lot too – combined system output is 284 PS and 450 Nm, deployed to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

MG may have been quiet with new model launches recently (the most recent update was the CKD MG S5EV), but the company has pretty much confirmed what they will be showcasing at KLIMS.
The first is the all-new, second-generation MG ZS, which will likely come to Malaysia in turbo and hybrid forms.
Then there’s also the IM6 – a C-segment SUV that is available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) flavours, depending on the market.

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has confirmed that they will be showcasing their Intelligent Electric All-Wheel-Control Technology (Nissan e-4ORCE) at KLIMS.
This likely points at the T33 Nissan X-Trail, a model that’s currently missing in ETCM’s line-up.
While the model was on sale globally since 2021, the ASEAN region didn’t receive this model until a couple of years ago when Singapore debuted the model in 2023. Thailand and Indonesia launched the T33 X-Trail last year, as a CBU model from Japan.

For KLIMS, Perodua’s recent poster showed the silhouette of what appears to be a sedan, hinting that the second national car maker could showcase a concept version of the Perodua Bezza.
In addition to that, it remains to be seen what else Perodua could bring to KLIMS. Its social media post hinted next-gen mobility, which could hint at the Perodua Ativa Hybrid. After all, Perodua’s current line-up only consists of ICE and EV models; hybrids are currently not represented by Perodua.

KLIMS could be a busy time for Proton, as Proton has confirmed that they would be showcasing its FutureMotion HEV dedicated hybrid technology, as well as a number of cars.

The FutureMotion HEV is likely what’s going to power the upcoming Proton Saga Cross – an Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA)-based model. Not much is known about AMA02, as Proton hasn’t revealed much information. Perhaps Proton could reveal more juicy bits during KLIMS?

Proton’s new energy arm, Pro-Net, will be showcasing an updated Proton eMas 7, likely with a larger battery and hopefully improved kit count.
There’s also a possibility that Pro-Net could showcase the locally-assembled (CKD) Proton eMas 5.
Toyota’s gonna be hectic at KLIMS, as the world’s largest car manufacturer would be cooking up a list of interesting models to showcase.

While the company has remained mum about its KLIMS showcase plans, there’s a good chance that they will showcase their currently line-up of electrified models, like the recently-launched Toyota Yaris Cross, Toyota bZ4X, and Toyota Hilux BEV.
At the time of writing, we do not know if Toyota will showcase any concept cars at KLIMS.

TQ Wuling may not be known for exciting cars, but for the upcoming 2026 KLIMS, TQ Wuling will be showcasing the Huajing S.
So, what is the Huajing S you ask?
The Huajing S is a full-sized, three-row SUV, developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling and parked under the newly-formed Huajing marque.
In-line with recent Chinese SUVs, the Huajing S is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, which combines a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor – the latter is juiced by either a 31- or 41.9-kWh LFP battery pack.
Under the WLTC test cycle, the Huajing S is able to return up to 175 km of pure electric driving range.

Earlier this month, Weststar Maxus teased the Maxus eTerron 9. The eTerron 9 is an electric pick-up truck that aims at the Hilux BEV and JAC T9 EV.
Other models that Weststar Maxus could display at KLIMS include the updated Maxus T60 and Maxus Star X.

For its upcoming KLIMS showcase, Xpeng, represented by Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd, will be showcasing the updated Xpeng X9, CKD G6, as well as the Xpeng P7.
The company will be launching the updated Xpeng X9 soon, but the P7’s where it gets interesting, as the P7 is Xpeng’s flagship model that encompasses all their latest tech.
For KLIMS, the Xpeng P7 would certainly be an eye-catching model, given that most cars on display are SUVs; a sleek sedan like the P7 would definitely wow the crowd.

Geely’s luxury arm Zeekr has quite a bit in store for KLIMS. Its recent social media posting revealed that they will be showcasing not one, not two, but three upcoming models.
The first is their flagship Zeekr 9X, which is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model that offers a combined system output of 1,400 PS and 1,410 Nm.

Then there’s the Zeekr 009 Grand. Positioned above 009 Ultra Luxury, the 009 Grand is the best of what Zeekr can offer in its MPV, including an uber-luxurious four-seater layout coupled with a large 43-inch TV.
