Dongfeng may not be a well-known brand amongst private car owners here in Malaysia, but the brand does offer a wide array of vehicles, ranging from sedans to SUVs and MPVs.

And the Dongfeng MHero II you see here is one of the few models that Dongfeng Malaysia has previewed in the country. Those interested can check it out at the ongoing 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (2026 KLIMS).

For context, in terms of dimensions, the Dongfeng MHero II is within the same ballpark as the Denza B8, measuring 5,100 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,899 mm in height, with a 3,005 mm wheelbase. The Denza B8 measures 5,195 mm long, 1,994 mm wide, 1,905 mm tall with a 2,920 mm wheelbase.

Whereas the Voyah Dream can be had as an EV or PHEV, the MHero II is only available as a PHEV, featuring a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine paired to a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (2DHT) and two electric motors.

In China, Dongfeng offers several variants of the MHero II, where it’s sold as the 猛士M817. Power output ranges from 505 kW (687 PS) and 848 Nm, all the way to 715 kW (972 PS) and 1,241 Nm.

Battery choices also vary – the MHero II offers both LFP and NMC battery packs, with capacities ranging between 31.7-kWh to 62.5-kWh. CLTC EV range is between 140 km to 301 km.

Could the Dongfeng MHero II sway you away from the Denza B8 if and when it arrives in Malaysia?
