BYD Q3 2026 results: Revenue rises 13.59% to RM 138.4 billion, net profit up 28.08%, overseas sales surge 90.7%

BYD has reported revenue of RMB 221.488 billion (approximately RM 138.4 billion) for the third quarter of 2026, up 13.59% from a year earlier. Net profit rose 28.08% to RMB 10.02 billion (approximately RM 6.26 billion), according to the company's financial results released on 30 October.

For the first nine months of 2026, BYD recorded total revenue of RMB 566.304 billion (approximately RM 353.9 billion) and net profit of RMB 22.345 billion (approximately RM 13.97 billion).

Research and development (R&D) spending reached RMB 36.277 billion (approximately RM 22.67 billion) over the same period, reflecting the company's continued investment in new technologies.

Flash-charging network expands to more than 12,000 stations.

BYD has continued expanding its charging infrastructure in China, where it now operates 12,165 flash-charging stations across 341 cities. Of these, 2,111 are located along motorways.

The company also reported that more than 3.95 million of its vehicles equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are now on the road, collectively generating around 240 million kilometres of driving data each day.

BYD has also introduced the industry's first AI super agent, named Didi Xia (迪迪虾).

Overseas sales jump 90.7% in the first nine months.

BYD Group sold 3,131,576 new energy vehicles (NEVs) during the first nine months of 2026.

Its three premium brands — Fangchengbao, Denza and Yangwang — recorded combined sales of 408,660 vehicles, an increase of 75.1% year on year. Together, they accounted for 13.3% of the group's passenger vehicle sales.

Overseas sales were another major contributor to BYD's performance. The company sold 1,337,831 passenger vehicles and pick-up trucks outside China during the first three quarters, up 90.7% from the same period last year.

The increase is particularly relevant to markets such as Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia, where BYD has been expanding its vehicle line-up and regional operations.

New developments in robotics and energy storage

Beyond its automotive business, BYD has also announced new partnerships and products in robotics and energy storage.

On 25 August, the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with PaXini Technology. The two companies will work together on data collection and robotics, with a focus on bringing robotic technologies into industrial manufacturing.

On 15 September, BYD unveiled its GW-scale Grid-Forming Energy Storage Solution 2.0 for global markets.

The system combines the new-generation MC Cube-XT BESS with GCFluxPCS 2.0 to create GBlock, a standardised, large-scale energy storage unit designed for power station applications.

Potential uses include standalone energy storage facilities, zero-carbon industrial parks, renewable energy projects and energy storage systems supporting high-power charging infrastructure.
