UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) held the fifth edition of Toyota Start Your Impossible (SYI) Outrun on Sunday, 5 July 2026, at Dataran Wawasan, Putrajaya. The event drew more than 7,500 participants and raised RM200,000 in support of the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM).

The run offered three categories: a 5KM Fun Run, a 10KM Competitive Run and a 21KM Half Marathon. The 2026 edition saw 2,200 runners take part in the 10KM Competitive Run and 1,800 runners in the 21KM Half Marathon, with participants ranging from families and first-time runners to competitive athletes.

Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor, said: "What makes this fifth edition significant is the consistency of support behind it. Toyota SYI Outrun has become a mid-year run that Malaysians return to because it is accessible, positive and connected to a cause that continues to matter. For UMWT, this reflects the value of building community initiatives over time, where every edition strengthens participation, awareness and practical support for organisations such as NCSM. We are grateful to the runners, partners, supporters and volunteers who helped make this year's event another meaningful milestone."

The event has supported causes tied to wellness and inclusivity since its debut in 2019, when it partnered the Paralympic Council of Malaysia. Recent editions have supported NCSM.

The route ran through Putrajaya's landmarks, with an event village drawing runners, supporters, volunteers and partners throughout the morning. A total prize pool of RM 138,000 was awarded to the top 10 finishers across the competitive categories.

The 2026 edition also marked the first UMWT event appearance by Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi, a Johor-born para sprinter and Asian Para Games gold medallist, following his recent debut in the Global Team Toyota Athlete (GTTA) programme — Toyota's global platform for athletes who exemplify perseverance and inspire change beyond competition. His participation tied into Toyota's Mobility for All philosophy and its push for greater inclusivity in sport.

Toyota SYI Outrun is part of Toyota's global Start Your Impossible initiative. UMWT said it intends to continue growing the event as a community platform supporting NCSM and other causes in future editions.
