BMW Group Malaysia has announced the appointment of Raymond Tan Chor Ann as its new Managing Director, effective 1 September 2026, succeeding Benjamin Nagel, who will take on a new regional role within the BMW Group.

Benjamin, meanwhile, has been appointed Managing Director of BMW Group Importer Markets Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau (TW, HK, MC), where he will oversee the premium automaker's operations across the three markets.
In his new role, Raymond will oversee BMW Group Malaysia's operations across the BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands, with a continued focus on strengthening the company's premium market position, customer experience and mobility offerings.

Raymond first joined BMW Group Malaysia in 2003 as Product and Price Planning Manager, where he was part of the pioneering team responsible for shaping the company's product strategy in Malaysia.
He later moved to BMW Group headquarters in Munich as Regional Product Manager, overseeing product planning and market coordination for international markets, before returning to Malaysia as Head of Marketing and subsequently Head of Sales, where he led nationwide sales operations and dealer network performance.
"I'm excited to return to Malaysia to lead the National Sales Company as the first local Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, particularly at this pivotal moment as the BMW Group prepares for a new era with the upcoming introduction of the Neue Klasse range of models," said Raymond Tan.
"My priorities will be to further develop the business, professionalise the retail network, strengthen customer loyalty, and continue positioning BMW Group as the premium brand of choice in Malaysia."

Nagel leaves Malaysia after steering BMW Group Malaysia through a period of transformation, with a strong emphasis on electrification, digitalisation, customer experience and dealer network development. During his tenure, the company also continued its strategy centred around Technology Openness and the Power of Choice.
Reflecting on his new appointment, Nagel said he looks forward to bringing the experience gained in Malaysia to the importer markets of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, while continuing to strengthen customer relationships and sustainable business growth across the region.
Commenting on the leadership transition, Ritu Chandy, Senior Vice President of Sales Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at BMW Group, said Raymond's extensive international experience and deep understanding of the region would be instrumental in guiding BMW Group Malaysia into its next phase of growth, while thanking Benjamin Nagel for his contributions during his tenure in Malaysia.
