Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla Spider, an open-top mid-engined hybrid supercar. Billed as the fastest convertible in the brand's history, it will make its global debut at the Concours d'Elegance in Las Vegas this weekend, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

The Valhalla Spider is Aston Martin's first production mid-engined supercar with an open cockpit. It retains the performance of the coupé while adding the experience of open-top driving.
The Valhalla Spider retains Aston Martin's signature dihedral doors, now with a frameless design. The door-opening mechanism has been revised, along with the curvature of the upper windscreen frame, to make getting in and out easier with the roof fitted.

A removable black fabric soft top comes as standard and can be stowed when not in use. With the soft top in place, the car has a top speed of 200 km/h.
Buyers can also specify an optional carbon-fibre hardtop, which allows the Valhalla Spider to reach 350 km/h, subject to the car's electronic speed limiter. A weather cover is also supplied for use when the car is parked.

A removable wind deflector has been developed specifically for open-top driving, helping to reduce turbulence and wind noise in the cabin.
It clips into place above the windscreen when the roof is removed, directing airflow over the cockpit while ensuring cooling air reaches the roof intake, which sits 35 mm higher.

When not in use, the folded deflector can be stored in a 15-litre compartment beside the door sill. The active aerodynamics and electronic stability control (ESP) system also adapt to whether the roof is open or closed, adjusting the car's aerodynamic balance accordingly.
Inside, the Valhalla Spider comes with newly designed carbon-fibre Comfort seats, developed to improve long-distance comfort while making access to the cabin easier with the roof in place.

Drivers who prefer a more supportive, track-focused seating position can opt to retain the same carbon-fibre racing seats offered in the Valhalla coupé at no extra cost.
The Valhalla Spider uses the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the hardtop, combining a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with three electric motors and a high-performance battery pack. Total system output stands at 1,079 PS and 1,100 Nm of torque.
The V8 alone produces 828 PS, equivalent to 207 hp per litre. Aston Martin says this is the highest specific output of any internal-combustion engine it has produced.
The three electric motors contribute a further 251 PS.

Two of the electric motors drive the front wheels, working with an electric torque-vectoring system to improve agility and stability.
At the rear, the third motor is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), where it works alongside the V8 to drive the rear wheels through an electronic limited-slip differential (e-Diff).

There is no physical mechanical connection between the front and rear axles. Instead, Aston Martin's Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) system manages torque distribution across all four wheels, coordinating the suspension, brakes, steering, active aerodynamics and powertrain.
Four selectable driving modes allow the system to adjust the car's behaviour to suit different driving conditions.
